★★★★★: Little Women by Greta Gerwig

The most terrible thing about this movie is that it did not last forever. There is so much love, so much comfort in the warm, sunny tones of the past, and so much loneliness, so much desperate reconciliation in the cooler, contemporary colors of the present. Most importantly, there is so much hope in the ethereal white of the future. What a cast, and what a crew. This is an absolute masterpiece and the perfect comfort-watch.

Also, here's a list of all the times I teared up/cried during this movie:
1. meg hugging her kids
2. the first time laurie met the marchs
3. when laurie gave them christmas breakfast
4. the christmas play
5. when they wouldn't take amy to the theatre
6. jo crying over her novel
7. meg & john talking abt money
8. laurie's smile after he tells amy she's beautiful
9. "write something for me"
10. jo crying over her hair
11. "not when i've spent my entire life loving you"
12. beth getting a piano
13. "i don't want you to be unhappy" "i cant be, john brook is my husband"
14. "please fight"
15. their father comes home
16. jo and amy make up
17. fredrich playing piano
18. the entire schoolhouse scene

Also, I'm not sure if I'm jealous of Saoirse Ronan for getting to make out with Louis Garrel or if I'm jealous of Louis Garrel for getting to make out with Saoirse Ronan.
