This is a perfect movie; you can tell it was made with immense love and care. Whoever did the coloring, lighting, shot composition, and set design deserve a kiss on the lips. There’s something here that rare in its authenticity: a strong sense of subtle alienness, of disorientation from general society. Black filmmakers genuinely carry the entire American film industry on their shoulders. I am equally awed by the technical finesse as I was at first watch.
