★★★★½: The Grand Budapest Hotel by Wes Anderson

I’m sure the budget for this was huge but also very much worth it. Very few directors are capable of cultivating such a distinctive “look” the way Wes Anderson does; that’s pure talent. This is the type of movie you don’t want to pause, not just because of the STUNNING visuals & brilliant performances but also because the story unfolds so seamlessly it transports you back to being a little kid who can’t wait to see what comes next. I really appreciate how simple yet tasteful the score was. Youthful, vibrant, and delightfully funny, there’s so much love and attention to detail here. I’m glad I watched it.
